Research Agenda

The research performed by the staff and students associated with AirChips Communication has touched on a number of areas since its inception.

Current projects in the research phase include:

Measuring the impact of semi-tropical foliage on the signal penetration ability of common unlicensed bands.

A study of the load surveillance device traffic, such as analog and IP cameras, places on a data network.

In conjunction with Regent Seven Seas Cruise Lines a study of the ability of geostationary satellites to provide stable, high-speed Internet access to ships at sea.

Also in conjunction with Regent Seven Seas Cruise Lines a study of the propagation characteristics of common unlicensed frequencies on board ship.

In concert with local wireless Internet service providers an ongoing study of the problems inherent to and the solutions required to provide high-speed Internet access to underserved areas, such as rural areas.
